The Emma Nightdress
Cotton, ivory, soft and unbroken — no pattern, just the weave itself. A house dress cut in a Victorian silhouette, long length — full, bishop sleeves, gathered at the wrist, finished in vintage lace.
Ruffles trim around the neck, a small, old-world detail. Loose through the body, the fabric falls and moves on its own, the way a nightdress once did. A tiered hem falls just below the knee.
No elastic, no shortcuts — just cotton, cut generous, made for the hours at home. Loose enough, too, for the hours before sleep — a house dress by day, a nightgown by night, as it might have been a century ago.
